Signs your plant needs a bigger pot
Roots poking out of the drainage holes, water running straight through, or growth that has stalled are all signs a plant has outgrown its pot. The cooler months are the best time to repot in the UAE, since plants recover faster without heat stress.
What you need
- A pot one size larger, with drainage holes.

Step by step
Water the plant a day before. Gently slide it out of its pot, loosen the outer roots, and trim any that look dark or mushy. Add a layer of fresh mix to the new pot, set the plant at the same depth as before, fill around the sides and firm lightly.
Aftercare
Water thoroughly and keep the plant in light shade for a week while it settles. Hold off on fertilizer for a few weeks, then resume normal feeding.
