Colour that works in desert conditions
A good UAE flowering shrub needs to handle strong sun, alkaline soil and limited water. The shrubs below are proven performers, and the cooler months are the ideal time to plant them so roots are strong before summer.

Planting tips
Dig a hole twice as wide as the pot, mix in some compost, plant at the same depth the shrub grew in the nursery, and water deeply. Mulch the surface to keep roots cool and moist.
